At the intersection of sculpture, behavior, and choreography, PLAY is an arena of chance encounters where visitors are invited to interact with nine office chairs that seem to have lives of their own.

Comprised of 9 free-roaming robots and an integrated sensor and custom software system, the development included a team of robotic engineers, software engineers and other specialists working together to use technology to realize the artistic requirements of the project.

Arisohn + Murphy acted as the project manager for the exhibition overseeing all aspects of the development of the project and installation at Gagosian New York in the Fall of 2018.
