nature morte at frieze ny 2016
As India’s premier contemporary art gallery, Nature Morte has led the way introducing important Indian and South Asian artists to the international art scene, including Subodh Gupta and Imran Qureshi. For their first presentation at Frieze New York in 2016, Nature Morte needed a strong local support system with experience at international art fairs to ensure a successful presentation. Working with the gallery, we executed targeted sales outreach in advance of the fair, focusing on a select group of collectors, institutions, and art advisors to sell works and build interest in advance of opening day. During the fair, we provided daily onsite assistance while making key introductions to important New York and international art leaders, driving strong sales to important US institutions and collectors. After the fair, we coordinated with clients who purchased works and followed up with new contacts to continue the momentum generated at the fair.
Following Nature Morte's impressive success at Frieze 2016, Arisohn + Murphy was brought on for Frieze 2017, while also continuing the relationship year-round as representatives for the gallery and their artists in the US. Gallery artists were included in major fall 2016 exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Freer Sackler, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Arisohn + Murphy has been integral in the planning stages for all openings, client outreach, event execution, artist relations, collector research, and overall brand expansion and strategy for the gallery.
