Arisohn + Murphy approaches creative and curatorial projects with a flexible perspective tailored to each client's individual project and budget. Artist selection ranges from emerging local artists to the most recognized contemporary artists with edgy styles to more ambient aesthetics that allow architectural or design elements equal presence.
In addition to a unique and flexible curatorial vision, Arisohn + Murphy delivers exceptional project management and execution to seamlessly handle the details of a large scale project with efficient communication to project stakeholders. When recently engaged by a Real Estate Developer and Marketing Team to curate a forthcoming Long Island City residential development, A+M worked with local artists and arts organizations to create an aesthetic vision that represents the neighborhood's unique cultural history.
Arisohn + Murphy provided selections of artwork by local artists in a variety of mediums for all aspects of the building including project renderings, sales center, and the finished building. Working closely with the marketing teams, landscape designer, rendering firm, construction team, and ownership we selected works that fit within the project's brand and identity as well as budget. In addition, curated artwork for additional marketing collateral on the website and brochures, drawing up licensing and copyright paperwork and coordinating all necessary credit information.
As part of the physical build-out of the Sales Center, Arisohn + Murphy was able to utilize our extensive history and knowledge of art gallery construction to guide the construction team in order to present the artwork in a sophisticated and luxurious way. Recommendations including lighting locations and specifications, wall requirements for hanging artwork, HVAC, and UV protection for the windows.
When curating the Sales Center, it was important to utilize many of the same artworks from the renderings in order to create a visual cohesiveness and continuity in the building's marketing and brand materials. With a final installation of over 40 different artworks, Arisohn + Murphy will coordinate and execute the installation of all the artwork for the Sales Center launch. Our role is to ensure all parties have contracts in place, from loan and commission contracts to licensing agreements, oversee all framing and transportation, as well as the installation. In addition, for the duration of the Sales Center opening, we will curate and execute numerous art rotations within the space to keep the presentation fresh and new, while representing as many diverse and unique artistic points of view from the community.
